Project spotlight: A conversation on emissions data + an acquisition announcement

I had a great time producing Watershed’s VitalMetrics acquisition announcement and directing this conversation with our Head Climate Scientists, Dr. Steve Davis and Dr. Sangwon Suh, on the role of accurate emissions data measurement in accelerating climate change mitigation – and how the field has evolved since they both worked to develop the Greenhouse Gas Protocol twenty years ago.

Traditionally, companies measuring emissions often rely on single-country emissions factors or highly aggregated datasets, which fail to provide the granularity and regional context companies need to make real carbon reductions. Dr. Suh and VitalMetrics solved this problem with CEDA, a multi-region model that blends emissions and economic data to cover 95% of global emissions.
